God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom. 5:8.
---------------------
It had been a very long day-preparing about 600 egg rolls, 60 pounds of spaghetti, 14 gallons of spaghetti sauce, 60 pounds of broccoli, 60 pounds of corn, and 60 pounds of carrots.

I was happy that the dinner theater put on by my daughter Susan's class had been a success. The junior class adviser and the officers of the class had been worried as to who would help them with the catering. The woman who was supposed to do the job had backed out at the last minute, so I had agreed to help. When Susan heard, she gave me a hug and said, "Thank you, Mom. I knew you would offer. I'll help you in any way I can."

"Honey, I'll do anything for you," I told her.

Every night for a week I found myself making egg rolls until I had
wrapped about 600. I calculated that it would be enough for 200 to 250 people. However, when the doors for the dinner theater officially opened, there were actually more than 300 people.

I was busy in the kitchen with some other mothers, but I could hear the kids saying, "There are still a lot of people who need food!" I admit I was a little scared that the food would not be enough, so I was praying that the Lord would multiply it. I admired the courage of the class; I kept hearing the servers saying, "Don't forget, the Lord multiplied the loaves of bread and the fishes."

The Lord did multiply our food. Even though we had to rush out for another gallon of spaghetti sauce, there were spaghetti, vegetables, and egg rolls left over. After everyone was served, I breathed a sigh of relief and thanked God for His miracle. Tired? Yes, but no regrets. I was happy that I could be of help.

When I finally laid my head on the pillow that night, I thanked God for doing such a hard task for me. I thought of how hard and heartbreaking it was for Him to send His only Son. He did it with joy, I'm very sure, and with no regrets. I thought of the agony of Jesus when He was mocked, ridiculed, and finally crucified. I thought of how Jesus saves me when I'm in trouble, when I'm discouraged, or when I just choose to let go of His hand. That night I prayed that I would appreciate what He had done for me, just as my daughter and her class appreciated my help.

The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing Psalms 34:7-9
