I used to be able to download from limewire a couple months ago but I tried it recently and it doesn't me to anymore and keeps saying something about firewall enabled. Anyways, I checked thru the control panel and ithe firewall wasn't on :confused. I've since uninstalled and reinstalled limeware but the same thing keeps happening. Does anyone have the same problem?

Never had that problem. You said you reinstalled it but you keep having the same problem. Is the problem connecting to limewire or trying to dl a newer version? If it's dl where are you dl it from?

You mean 4.10. Well I'm still using 4.9 so not sure if thats just bugs in the newer version. Just to be sure when you open up limewire go to tools/options/advance then firewall config. Under router configuration make sure its check to Use UPnP.

Just out of curiousity are you using a firewall? Norton perhaps? Norton is notorius for blocking stuff. Also certain antispyware programs will block things if you mess up and respond 'yes' when installing it.

Have Norton on my other comp but that one crash so not sure if that is what is causing the problem. If thats the case there should be an option in Nortons that lets you choose what programs you want to allow to connect to the internet. Make sure that Norton is giving Limewire permission to connect to the internet.

Yep. Given free reign Norton Internet Security will block any and everything that even thinks about connecting to the internet. You should be able to find a list of blocked programs under its firewall settings.
