Kingston, Jamaica, CANA - A Deputy Commissioner of Police in Jamaica, Owen Clunie, under investigation in connection with drug-related and wire-tapping matters, has reported threats on his life, the Sunday Herald newspaper reported. The newspaper quoted Clunie as saying that his life and that of his wife, Lorraine, had been threatened. He would not go into details and referred the Herald to Police Commissioner Francis Forbes who declined to address the matter at lengths. Fingers were pointed at Clunie last year when it was alleged that he was involved in a US multi-million dollar drug-trafficking ring that had strong Colombian and Jamaican links. Clunie has repeatedly denied the allegations.
